OUR HISTORY

Lower Merion Police Pension Association

The LMPPA was established on April 12th, 1924 in the Court of Common Pleas by a Citizens Committee with the purpose of providing officers that retired after serving at least 20 years with a small monthly pension. It is funded solely by contributions from community members of Lower Merion Township and its surrounding suburbs. The Board of Directors volunteer to oversee the program.

The Lower Merion Police Pension Association is celebrating our 94th year of showing gratitude to retired officers who were employed as active Police Officers in Lower Merion Township or Narberth Borough. The Private Pension is our chance to give back to the officers who gave service to our community for at least 25 years, with many officers working as many as 40 years before retiring. The Lower Merion Police Department has received both public and private recognition for its outstanding service, and our residents feel secure in Lower Merion knowing that they are protected by our outstanding officers. The LMPPA provides these officers with a supplemental small pension and modest death-benefit insurance policy in their retirement. This gift is funded by our generous Lower Merion and Narberth residents and businesses, and once a year we ask that you contribute to the growing number of retired men and women. For every dollar collected, 100% goes to our retirees.

Your Generosity Provides Security to Retired Police Officers
